Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 April 2026
Welcome to Dandali. These Terms govern your use of the Dandali app and website. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use Dandali
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Dandali account. Dandali is designed for children aged 3 to 12, but only a parent or legal guardian can sign up and manage profiles on behalf of a child.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything done under your account. Let us know at security@dandali.app if you think your account has been compromised.
3. Subscriptions and payment
Dandali offers a free tier and paid tiers (Premium, Premium Plus). Paid tiers are billed monthly or annually through the App Store or Google Play.
- Auto-renewal (required disclosure): Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account.
- Free trial: If a free trial is offered on an annual plan, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Cancellations: You can cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google. We can advocate on your behalf but cannot process refunds directly.
- Price changes: We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price change. Continued use after the change indicates acceptance.
4. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Share your account with people outside your household.
- Attempt to download, scrape, copy, or redistribute Dandali content outside of the in-app experience.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to extract our audio, illustrations, or source code.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm anyone — including our small support team.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Content ownership
All stories, audio narrations, illustrations, and software in Dandali are owned by Dandali or our licensors and contributors. You have a personal, non-commercial licence to use them inside the app while your account is active. You may not republish, broadcast, or sell this content.
Traditional folktales, proverbs, and riddles belong to the communities from which they originate. Our original adaptations and narrations are the copyrighted work of Dandali.
6. User-generated content
If we enable features that let you save notes, create playlists, or upload avatars, you retain ownership of your content but grant us a limited licence to host and display it inside Dandali on your behalf.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dandali and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Changes to the Service
We may add, remove, or change features over time. For material changes that reduce a paid tier's value, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and offer a prorated refund if requested.
10. Changes to these Terms
If we update these Terms, we'll notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Nigeria, unless mandatory local consumer-protection law says otherwise.
